Breast augmentation is a surgery used to increase the size of your breasts with the use of implants. This surgery is also often performed to restore breast volume after major weight loss or pregnancy. Breast augmentations serve the purpose of increasing the fullness of your breasts, improving your figure, and can also help enhance your self-confidence.
The decision to get breast augmentations is a very personal one. We encourage you to make this decision for yourself alone and not to please anyone else. If this procedure is one that you want to undergo in order to achieve your ideal body, we are here to help. You may be an ideal candidate for this procedure if:
It should be noted that breast augmentations do not correct sagging in breasts. If that is another part of your breasts that you would like corrected, a breast lift may be performed either in tandem with this procedure or as a separate procedure to better help you reach your body image goals.
After administering anesthesia for your comfort, small incisions are made on the breasts in nondescript places. We will discuss your ideal incision points before surgery. After the incisions are made, the implant will be inserted into a pocket in one of two places. The first is under the pectoral muscle and the second is over the pectoral muscle, directly behind your breast tissue. The type of incisions and placement of the implant will be determined based on your desired breast appearance and your body type. Layered sutures are made in the breast tissue to close up in the incisions along with sutures, surgical tape, and skin adhesive as necessary.
You will be able to immediately see the results of your breast augmentation. The swelling from the surgery will subside over the course of time and the scars will fade as well. With the help of this augmentation your self-image and self-confidence will increase as you take possession of the body goals you’ve been striving for. We’re here to help you every step of the way with this process!
Please note that breast implants are not designed for lifetime use. You may need to have them replaced as time goes on, so we recommend yearly check ups to ensure the integrity of your implant as well as your overall breast health. Other factors such as aging, fluctuation in weight, gravity, and more may also affect your breasts as time goes on. Procedures such as a breast lift or implant exchange can be scheduled to help you maintain the youthful contour of your breasts.
Every woman’s body is unique, and as such, recovery time for this procedure may vary from patient to patient. However, on average most women tend to see a complete recovery around 6 weeks. Many also say that they start to feel more normal again after just a week. You will have restrictions for four weeks to prevent complications
